Four years after the release of her first EP, Résurgence, Quebec City saxophonist Maude Fortier returns with a brand new album, Echoes of Change.
After months of creation, this new album, which includes original compositions, marks a turning point in the artist's career.
Rooted in jazz tradition, Echoes of Change offers a sonic journey into the heart of the artist's doubts, dreams, and hopes. Each piece is an intimate page from the life of a young adult coming of age, written between hope and uncertainty. Through its tracks, the album explores a continuity: that of a jazz tradition in evolution and an intimate journey where echoes of childhood meet the shifting realities of adulthood.
A leading figure on Montreal's jazz scene, Maude Fortier will embark on a Canadian tour this May, taking her from Toronto to Vancouver. For this project, she will be accompanied by her quartet, composed of pianist August McKinney, bassist Juno Hamilton, and drummer Julian Ferrer. The group formed during their studies at McGill University and has since distinguished itself with a strong presence on the local scene.
