Marie-Soleil Lambert is a jazz vocalist, band leader, composer, arranger and
improviser. Passionate about jazz, scat, creation and writing, she
is enthusiastic about life and art.
Her music transports and moves us, offers us a colorful amalgam of original
or arranged pieces going through jazz/be-bop, fusion, funk and Latin, with influences from Ella
Fitzgerald, Thelonious Monk, Anita O’day, Joni Mitchell, etc.
Frédéric Alarie has built a solid career as a double bass player, playing with the world's greatest ensembles, including Bernard Primeau, Lorraine Desmarais, Jean-Pierre Zanella and Yannick Rieu, among others.
As an accompanist, he has played with great artists such as Joe Lovano, Oliver Jones, Ranee Lee, Salvator Adamo, Nathalie Dessay, Charles Aznavour and Michel Legrand. Going beyond the usual role of supporting the double bass in various improvised music and jazz ensembles, his musical approach is recognized for its audacity.
